Kino Sports Complex
Born as a baseball-centric facility in 1997, Kino Sports Complex has evolved into a premier multi-purpose venue used year-round for a variety of professional and amateur sports, and cultural events. It is currently the largest sports and entertainment venue in Southern Arizona.
Whether you’re looking for a venue to host your next tournament, concert, fundraiser, league, monthly meeting, training session, holiday party, trade show, or team building session, the Kino Sports Complex is available by reservation for a variety of activities and events. Best of all, because of its unique layout and over 4,000 free parking spaces, the venue can accommodate multiple events on the same day.
History
In 1997, Kino Sports Complex debuted as an official Major League Baseball spring training site for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox. It functioned as such for nearly a decade.
By 2011, Kino switched gears and became a preseason destination for Major League Soccer hosting an annual preseason exhibition tournament each year. Over the past several years, the Complex has also hosted the national Pac-12 Rugby Championships, welcomed national college teams to practice for the Arizona Bowl tournament, and hosted international teams from Mexico and Korea for their spring training camps.
Additionally, the Complex annually hosts large community events, including the Gem & Mineral Show, KFMA Day concert, Centurions, and the Mexican Baseball Fiesta. While the facility caters to large scale events, it also regularly serves the recreational needs of the community and fosters the growth of amateur sports across Pima County.
Management
The Complex is managed by the Pima County Stadium District, which is comprised of a qualified group of staff with over 20 years’ experience in facility operations and maintenance, event planning, grounds keeping, event management and site coordination.
While maintaining a top-notch facility is their priority, District staff find it equally important to make the Complex a pleasant experience for guests and occupants alike. Beyond the event planning services offered in-house, County staff can help occupants procure a wide range of services to fit their event needs, including:
- Custodial Services
- Security
- Concessions
- Catering
- Parking and Transportation Services
- And more
Just because it hasn’t been done doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. Kino welcomes all event types and will work with organizers to make their vision a reality.
